Abstract

This article deals with the theoretical examination of the foundations of General Studies Education. Using the method of historical discourse analysis, two discourses on inter- and transdisciplinarity are reconstructed. The justification discourse for inter- and transdisciplinary teaching in General Studies comprises seven justifications. The discourse on the nature of inter- and transdisciplinarity unfolds along the characteristics of «complexity», «connectivity» and «perspectivity/holism».
